Linear Programming deals with the optimization (maximization or minimization) of linear functions subject to linear constraints.This technique has found its applications to important areas of product mix, blending problems and diet problems.Oil refineries, chemical industries, steel industries and food processing industry are also using linear programming with considerable success. Linear programming problems involving only two variables can be effectively solved by a graphical technique which provides a pictorial representation of the solution.
The Seabiscuit program took place on August 2003 at Countryside.
Seabiscuit's former jockey lives locally and he described the world of thoroughbred racing in the 1930s when Seabiscuit was the “all-star” of all time. He shared a scrapbook filled with his racing career highlights and shared many memories. The library was filled to capacity that day.
A II Cãominhada, organizada pelo programa “Amigos de Quatro Patas” da UFSJ, aconteceu no dia 7 de novembro, tendo ínicio na Avenida Leite de Castro, em frente ao Supermercado Sales, até o Coreto Maestro João Cavalcante, localizado na Avenida Presidente Tancredo Neves. O objetivo do evento foi conscientizar a população sanjoanense sobre os direitos dos animais, guarda responsável, abandono, esterilização e adoção. Este tipo de mobilização demonstrou a força que uma boa divulgação e ação podem trazer a causa.

On December 9, 2016, the Arboretum and Public Garden had the opportunity to welcome a group of students from a journalism program in Visalia CA. The aspiring young journalists had the opportunity to interview our Museum Education & Interpretive Manager- Maya Makker, GATEways Outreach Students- Vivian Le and Rachel Le and our Outreach and Leadership Program Coordinator- Melissa Cruz.

Noted Zambian artist and art teacher Mwamba Mulangala developed a Visual Arts Program for the youth served by Lubuto Libraries, held weekly in Lubuto’s purpose-built Arts and Activities Buildings. The program began at the first Lubuto Library in Lusaka in September 2007.
25 volunteers showed up for a fun evening of appreciation on Feb. 9. Volunteers gave close to 3,000 hours in 2016 and helped with completion of 30 projects and helping in the Seedling Tree Nursery.
